A few examples of Morris Muskett's jewelry

Morris Muskett has added the Native Treasures Show to his 2009 schedule.  The show is at the Santa Fe Convention Center on Memorial Day weekend, May 23rd and 24th.  The picture above shows a small selection of Morris’ work in rings.   Morris will also have a selection of his current weavings at the show.    Morris’ work in weaving and jewelry can be appreciated as fine art work as well as craft and transcends the expected.

D.Y. Begay will be showing her exquisite weaving at the Heard Museum Indian Market on March 7th and 8th.   You’ll find her in Area 4, booth W-02.   This year, D.Y. will be joined by her twin sisters Berdine and Berdina, who will be showing their work at the show for the first time.

Finally, I’ll be helping to demonstrate spinning at the Southwest Indian Art Fair in Tucson, AZ on Saturday, February 21.

Margaret, D.Y. Begay wrote today to let me know that the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. has her work in their collection. D.Y. was very flattered by your comment and says that you can contact her directly at dybegay@cox.net if you have other questions.

Margaret, I know that the Kennedy Museum of Art in Cincinnati, Ohio has some of D.Y.’s work. You can see some of the exhibit work she’s done for them at http://www.ohio.edu/museum/weaving/dybegaymain.html. I’ve forwarded your compliment and question to D.Y.

I am stunned by D. Y. Begay’s contemporary weavings. Are there museums where her work is displayed so I could see it in person? My daughter attends ASU so we have an opportunity to be in Arizona about once a year but especially nice would be a museum on the east coast where we live.
