Navajo Weaving Workshop Refresh your spirit and creativity with the art of Navajo weaving during this six-class series. Beginning students will have the opportunity to learn from Master Navajo Weaver, Lynda Teller Pete. Lynda, a 5th generation Navajo weaver has garnered two First Place Blue Ribbons at the Santa Fe Indian Market for her tapestries. While instructing and demonstrating, Lynda will share personal stories and experiences. The $375 fee covers the six classes and all materials: participants will start with a pre-warped loom. Beginning Navajo Weaving Class Refresh your spirit and creativity with the tranquil art of Navajo weaving. Students will have the opportunity to learn the art of weaving from Master Navajo Weaver, Lynda Teller Pete. Lynda is a 5th Generation Navajo weaver. Students will learn how to weave a 12” X 16” rug. Totah Festival Indian Market Rug Auction

This rug auction is held in conjunction with the Totah Festival Indian Market at the Farmington Civic Center.  The Totah Festival runs September 5 and 6, 2009.  These beautiful, authentic, hand woven Navajo Rugs can be viewed on September 5th from 9:00 am until auction time at 1:00 pm the same day.  These rugs are brought in by the weavers themselves.  These weavers are from all over the 4 Corners area.   Contact the Farmington Convention and Visitors Bureau at 1-800-448-1240  for more information or go to www.farmingtonnm.org.

    Robert Garcia: I have what I think is a Navajo weaving 23" X 35" that was made by ? Mary Rose James? Just wanted to know what its worth.
