It's always fun to talk about weaving.
As a part of the integration of the changes that I’ve made in the site over the last few months, our Weave Got to Talk discussion forum has moved to a new address and now has a link from this page. If you had a membership in the old forum, I’ve created a membership for you in the new forum.
The forum is an opportunity to increase the community aspect of the site and to share your thoughts, questions and work with others who have similar interests. You can upload up to two pictures to the forum in each of your posts. If you would like to join the discussion, just register and you’ll receive a password shortly. To reduce the possibility of spam, both the registration and posting processes are subject to moderation. Members are asked to stay on topic, refrain from profanity and personal attacks and to report any activity that does not conform to these rules.
I’ve tested the forum functionality and things seem to be working, but please contact me if you encounter any issues.

When I revamped the Weaving in Beauty website earlier this year, I set it up so that only site members could comment on the articles and pages. Although we receive 1500+ visits per month there aren’t that many comments, so I’ve eliminated the need to register and anyone can post a comment subject to moderation. I do have to manage some spam comments, but there are packages that identify this cyber flotsam pretty effectively. Unfortunately, some spammers try to get around this by registering as members on the site, so I am eliminating the registration and member login links immediately since you don’t need these to access any part of the site. If you’d like to post an article, you will need to be registered and I’ll do that on an individual basis if you contact me and discuss the content you’d like to add.
Most people who have registered did that because they wanted to know when the site is updated. The fast answer is that I try to write a post each day, but sometimes life gets in the way. If you’d like to know for sure when I’ve published something new or made a change, there are two ways to do that. You can register to receive an email notice of changes or you can subscribe to our RSS feed.
If you’ve already registered, you’ll automatically receive the email notices, and you can cancel those at any time.
Since you had to read through all of this administrivia, the least I can do is give you a nice picture to make up for it! Here’s a detail of an 1880’s blanket that was brought in for appraisal at the Southwest Traders Rendezvous last weekend. Rumor has it that will be in the upcoming Friends of Hubbell Auction this Saturday. Stay tuned….

After 10 years with the same format, I’ve changed the web site design to integrate the Weaving News blog with the home page and I’ve streamlined the navigation links. Everything is still here, but the blog should be easier to access and comment on, and things should be easier to find. Please let me know what you think of the changes by leaving a comment or using the email link.
Over the next week or so, I’ll be migrating the other Events, Buying, Instruction and Biblography pages to the new format. I’ll even update my biography!
